The Allegro 2055 Deluxe Pump Smoke Test Kit provides a battery-powered pump and stannic chloride smoke tubes for qualitative respirator fit testing. OSHA Irritant-Smoke Protocol

OSHA 1910.134 Appendix A, Part I.B.5 requires HEPA or P100 series filters for this method. Do not use it for standard N95 fit testing. A test hood or enclosure is prohibited. Testing requires adequate ventilation, sensitivity screening, the prescribed exercises and a post-test sensitivity check.

Under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, qualitative testing of negative-pressure air-purifying respirators is limited to uses at no more than 10 times the permissible exposure limit. A full-face respirator intended for APF 50 use requires quantitative fit testing.

Smoke-Tube Handling and Safety

These tubes contain a hazardous chemical test agent. The manufacturer’s SDS identifies skin corrosion, serious eye damage and respiratory irritation hazards. Follow its handling, first-aid and disposal instructions and the complete OSHA protocol. Avoid unnecessary exposure of the subject or administrator. A passing test does not guarantee a perfect seal during every movement or future use.

Is this a manual squeeze-bulb kit?

No. Model 2055 is the deluxe powered-pump kit. Allegro’s standard 2050 kit uses an aspirator assembly.

Can it test disposable N95 respirators?

No. OSHA’s irritant-smoke protocol requires HEPA or P100 filters. Consider an accepted saccharin or Bitrex method where qualitative testing is appropriate.

Does passing replace daily seal checks?

No. Users must perform a seal check each time a tight-fitting respirator is donned, even after passing a fit test.
